It's Rather Glamorous.

Happy Thanksgiving loves! I just wanted to take a minute to share with you one of my favorite holiday collections, 'Glamor Daze' is the MAC Holiday Collection for 2012! All of the colors and pallets are, well, glamorous! Each of these items make wonderful gifts at an affordable price, and because this is a limited edition collection, everything is one of a kind!
A true lipstick wearer, I am truly excited to try several of these! My favorites are 'Outrageously Fun' (third from the left), 'Innocence' (second from the left) and 'Dramatic Encounter' (last from the left). Lipstick isn't for everyone, but with the right outfit, all of these colors can pop!
I've selected these four from the eye shadows as my favorites! 'Divine Blue' (bottom left) and 'Round Midnight' (bottom right) are holiday-approved colors! The jewel tones give a slightly wintery but festive feel. I always encourage everyone to be festive with not only outfits but makeup and accessories as well during the holidays, it's so easy to dress up your attire without going over the top for dinner or holiday parties!
I'm not a huge fan of eyeliner, but lately I've been trying a turquoise liner with gold or neutral shadows. These colors are pretty basic but can add a little flair to your eyes! 'Mystery' (third from the left) is soft army green that will surely deepen your eyes for either a smoky eye or even possibly a brighter look!
Nail polish is the easiest way to express yourselves ladies! Whenever I wear my favorite polish, 'Baker Street' by London Nails Inc.', I always get compliments. Given a vibrant or interesting color, people will notice your hands! I personally adore 'Everything that Glitters' (last from the left) and 'In the Limelight' (second from the left). 'Everything that Glitters' is dark and fancy with a little attitude, the sparkles will accommodate nicely perhaps for New Year's Eve!

I hope you and your families are blessed, safe and thankful wherever you may be spending your holiday!
Stay tuned for an outfit post either later today or tomorrow!
Happy Turkey Day!

Pretty Finds #5.

Hello my Still Pretty readers! Please appreciate my apologies when I tell you that I am truly sorry for the lack of posts over the past two months. My life has been quite hectic lately and I have been slacking quite a bit! I also have good news as well, Still Pretty has decided to take on a new look! Over the next few weeks I will be in touch with different people to help me work toward a whole new look including a logo as well! So please be patient, and bear with me through our technical changes! Until then, here are some Pretty Finds to help move your closet along into Fall/Winter 2012-13 as the bitter cold approaches!
I am completely in love with this jacket! It incorporates two of my favorite trends, capes and tweed! This season, capes and ponchos alike have been quite visible in the fashion world; they can act as a quick throw-on or be dressed up for a more classy look. This specific style can be found on the 'ASOS' website, but many other variations are available at other stores.

Who doesn't love leather, or faux leather for that matter? Leather continues to be classic winter trend time after time. As different trends arrive on the scene, leather is mixed with these to create a newer look. On the left, I've chosen a peplum top made of faux leather, peplum has been increasingly popular for a while now and has willingly worked its way into our Fall/Winter trend lists as well! A delicate sweet addition to any outfit, the peplum top is edgy, feminine and can be paired with a number of different options. This top is actually on sale at ASOS right now, give it a home in your closet! On the right, I have selected a faux croc-skin skirt. Always classy, the basic leather skirt should be an item in every girl's winter wardrobe. Matched with a nice pair of boots or pumps this skirt can be comfortable and cute in any situation! This skirt is available at 'H&M' for about $30.

Another trend I am absolutely loving, is the cap-toe! These 'Vince Camuto' booties will do amazingly in my closet. The cap-toe adds an extra flair to an otherwise neutral or basic winter shoe. Booties, also classically winter-esque, are cute in any form, whether it be leather or suede! These booties are available at 'Nordstrom'.

Thank you for reading and please remain patient during our changes!
Stay Pretty!

The weather in DC has finally decided to cool down somewhat as we approach the Fall. I am super anxious about breaking out my new Fall/Winter gear but until it gets colder, I am out of luck! It was a bit chilly, but I went through the day without a jacket in this cute fit.

Bohemian Art.

Hello everyone! As some of you may know, the DC area has been having extremely humid weather lately and a gal has just been trying to stay cool AND chic! I got my gypsy on today in a colorful, flowy skirt and turban-esque head wrap!
For a bit of flair, I tied a small knot in the side of my tee as it was loose fitting anyway and it gave me a chance to show a little skin!

Back to the Mecca.

Hello everyone! Today marks the official third day of classes for my colleagues and I at the wonderful Howard University! Throughout the week, I've been scoping out the dopest back to class outfits on the yard! Since fashion is big at Howard, I surely found some blog-worthy outfits!
My friend Alex here, donned a cute camouflage look with a twist! She wore some camo skinny jeans along with a military-like throw on jacket. Her bright pink sneakers brought the outfit to life and added some pop into her ensemble! I also loved her jean knapsack which is wonderful for carrying around all of those heavy books!
One of my favorite outfits of the day, this young lady kept it simple yet still very cute in all black. She looked very classy in her sheer, flowy top, to which she added a pair of black leggings and bright sandals. A fan of 'Dolce Vita', I have actually seen these shoes while shopping! She polished off her look by keeping her embellished accessories minimal and carrying an oversized 'Louis Vuitton' bag.
As a big fan of the color-blocking movement, I absolutely adored Chebony's use of this fashionable technique! Her outfit was bright and bold as she paired a pair of deep green pants and hi-yellow, chiffon button down. Her medium-size purse was super cute and added a classic flair to her outfit along with her tan oxfords!
Another instance of color-blocking, this young lady tastefully paired together a navy blue top and red pants. Her neck candy was gorgeous and definitely added something different to her overall look!
This young lady had on a lovely maxi skirt that blended extremely well with the rest of her fit. Her embroidered royal blue top looked super fabulous and also matched her wedges. She added in a bright pop of color with her yellow tote bag!

I was feeling the Maxi Skirt Madness like many of my peers, so I decided to break out one of many favorite items that reside in my closet. I kept my outfit casual yet still fancy as I wore different shades of my favorite color: purple!
